i lost all my friends in a strange turn of events, when i wrote a song about how all our motives change with age. and how i wish we'd stay the same. i lost all i had when i joined some Philly band, and sold my soul to rock and roll like how they used to. i listened to all those bands i used to hate because i thought it might impress someone i didn't know quite yet. let me grow up peacefully and beautifully and wrong. i'll learn how to face mistakes and turn sadness into songs. a deadbeat girl with nothing new but at least i'll do what i want to, a happy life full of sleeping right and waking up alone, oh i never want to grow old.
